I’m off to the Royal Winter Fair for the next two days. Can’t guarantee I’ll see Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla but am bound to see sheep, chickens and a whole herd of cookbook authors.
Do cookbook authors come in herds? Or prides?
Regardless, I’m hobnobbing with some foodies and will report back. In the meantime, here’s a look at last year’s menagerie — of a farm animals, not cookbook authors.
See you next week.

Hm. How about a ‘roulade’ of writers. Or a ‘jambalaya’ of journalists. Maybe an ‘Aioli’ of authors?
Have fun at the fair.

This is my favorite horse show of all times. I use to show there back in the late 70’s and early 80’s when I was training horses for Augusta A. Busch, Jr. (Old Gussie Busch) and we always had a wonderful time. He usually drove his 4 in hand, which was always was a crowd pleaser.
Have fun and I hope you post some pictures.

Yes, have fun. Don’t forget your camera. We want to see the authors and the animals in all their finery.

I did bring my camera, but only a point-and-shoot. My DSLR is too heavy and needs a tripod in low light. Unfortunately, I was too busy to take photos of the authors.

More pics coming. No baby llamas this year, but some really cute alpacas and earless goats.
