Blog Aid

The brainchild of Julie Van Rosendaal, BlogAid is a group of food writers who put their heads and recipes together to make a cookbook to help Haiti. Each dollar raised will be matched by West Canadian Graphics and Blurb, making your donation go three times as far. Until February 12, 2010, the Canadian Government will match this triple donation. I did the math. That’s a six-fold contribution.
Within 24 hours of its release, we raised more than $20,000.
Every recipe, photo, edit and aspect of graphic design was donated. Cathryn Ironwood gave up untold hours and sleep, Julie was right by her side all the time. Despite working 16-hour days at the Athlete’s Village for the 2010 Olympics, Chef Michael Smith contributed, forcing me to update my definition of the world hero.
